GAC is preparing a completely updated GS4: new design, increased dimensions and the same 1.5‑liter turbo engine.
The GAC company presented in China an updated version of the GS4 crossover (in the home market - Trumpchi GS4), which received a deep restyling. The model has changed so noticeably that in fact we are talking about a new generation with a redesigned design concept and improved ergonomics.
At the same time, the manufacturer has retained key technical solutions, including a proven gasoline engine.
The main changes affected the appearance. The crossover has completely lost its previous massive radiator grille - it was replaced with a more laconic front part with a combined LED strip between the headlights.
The hood has become less prominent, and the front bumper has become more modern in shape. In profile, the GS4 has lost its coupe-like features and become closer to classic crossovers, which can have a positive effect on practicality.
The rear part also received a new design: a single LED “mono light” with an illuminated logo appeared, emphasizing the current design trend.
The updated GS4 has slightly increased in size. Its length is 4680 mm, width - 1860 mm, height - 1675 mm, and the wheelbase has increased to 2770 mm.
Compared to the previous version, the base has grown by 20 mm, which should have a positive effect on the space in the cabin, especially for second-row passengers.
Despite major changes in appearance, the technical part remained conservative. The crossover is equipped with a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine producing 177 hp
The maximum speed is stated at 185 km/h. GAC therefore relies on proven units, combining them with updated design and improved ergonomics.
On the Russian market, GS4 remains one of the most affordable models of the GAC brand. An update in China could mean the prospect of a new version appearing in Russia, although there is no official confirmation yet.
At the same time, the design of the new product echoes the larger GAC S9 crossover, which is already preparing to enter the Russian market and demonstrates the brand’s new corporate style.
The radical update of the GS4 reflects GAC's commitment to modern trends such as more minimalist design, improved aerodynamics and increased cabin space.
The combination of an updated appearance and a proven technical base makes the model potentially in demand both in the Chinese market and beyond.
