The electric vehicle brand of the Chinese state-owned automaker GAC presented the second-generation Aion V crossover at the Beijing Auto Show - it was developed as a global model.
GAC has introduced a new generation crossover SUV called the Aion V. It is based on the AEP platform with a 400-volt architecture and is the first vehicle with this type of system, equipped with silicon carbide power electronics. This crossover is even more spacious, equipped with a self-learning AI cockpit and an autopilot system that works without the need for high-definition maps. Thanks to just fifteen minutes of charging, the electric car gets an additional 370 kilometers of range, which provides a total range of 750 kilometers on the CLTC cycle.
The power structure of this crossover provides comprehensive protection, while during a frontal impact, energy is dissipated in 11 directions. In addition, the new generation battery has properties that prevent explosions and fires. Details about the interior of the new Aion V and its technical characteristics have not yet been disclosed.
Although GAC's electric vehicle sub-brand Aion has not yet been officially introduced in Russia, last month the company registered several trademarks, including Aion V, Aion LX, Aion Y Plus, Aion S and Aion ES. In addition, the manufacturer has registered the naming rights to three top-end electric cars, separating them into a separate Aion Hyper line.
