The Deepal S05 electric crossover received OTTS for Russia: up to 381 hp, a range of up to 500 km and a spacious interior.

Preparation for entering the market

Changan has completed an important stage of preparation for the launch of the new electric crossover Deepal S05 in Russia. The model has received vehicle type approval (VTA), which opens the way to official sales.

Despite this, the time frame for entering the market and the cost of the new product have not yet been disclosed, however, the publication of characteristics allows us to get a general idea of the future offering of the brand.

Dimensions and layout

Deepal S05 belongs to the mid-size crossover segment. Its length is 4620 mm, and the wheelbase reaches 2880 mm - one of the best indicators in the class.

This arrangement made it possible to provide a spacious interior and increase the amount of space for passengers. The car received a fully independent suspension and disc brakes, which should have a positive effect on handling and comfort.

Electric propulsion

The crossover is equipped with a dual-motor electric system that provides all-wheel drive. Maximum output reaches 381 hp, which makes the model quite dynamic for its class.

At the same time, the “tax” power indicator, calculated for a 30-minute operating mode, is 146 hp. This could be an important consideration for potential owners in terms of running costs.

The lithium iron phosphate battery provides a range of up to 500 kilometers, but the exact battery capacity has not yet been disclosed.

Equipment and safety

Deepal S05 will receive modern equipment that meets the current requirements of the segment. Standard equipment will include LED optics, six airbags and a multimedia system with a large display and support for wireless interfaces.

For the Russian market, the installation of the ERA-GLONASS system is also provided, which is a prerequisite for certification.

Development of the Deepal line

The release of S05 will be the next step in the development of the Deepal brand in Russia. The first model of the brand has already become the G318 crossover, the production of which Changan plans to localize in full cycle.

In the future, the line will expand: the larger S07 crossover is expected to appear, as well as other models, including a cross-coupe with a convertible body.

Deepal S05, in turn, can occupy an important place in the electric crossover segment, offering a combination of practicality, modern technology and competitive characteristics for the Russian market.
