The large three-row crossover Wey V9X has been declassified: it will compete with the Lixiang L9

The large three-row hybrid crossover Wey V9X, a competitor to the Lixiang L9, has been declassified. The 5,180 mm long model will receive a plug-in hybrid (490 hp), a range of up to 1,300 km, a frame chassis, all-wheel drive with reduction gearing and a premium interior.

The Chinese premium brand Wey (a sub-brand of Great Wall Motor) has officially unveiled its new flagship - the large three-row hybrid crossover V9X. The model is positioned as a direct competitor to the popular Lixiang L9, but relies on a more balanced combination of luxury, technology and classic cross-country ability.

Wey V9X is built on the modular Coffee 03 platform, adapted for hybrid power plants. Its length is 5,180 mm, wheelbase is 3,120 mm, which provides a spacious interior with three full rows of seats and a trunk volume of up to 620 liters in a five-seat configuration. The design is designed in a minimalist but monumental style: narrow LED headlights, a panoramic roof, hidden door handles and 21-inch wheels emphasize the status of the model.

Under the hood is a plug-in hybrid system based on a 2.0-liter turbo engine and two electric motors. The total output reaches 490 hp, and the power reserve in purely electric mode is up to 220 km (according to the CLTC cycle). In hybrid mode, the car can travel more than 1,300 km without refueling. However, the V9X retains its body-on-frame design and all-wheel drive system with low-range gearing—a rarity in the “luxury family EV” segment.

In the cabin - everything that is expected from a premium MPV-SUV: Nappa leather, wood, second-row massage seats with a “zero gravity” function, separate 15.6-inch screens for passengers, a premium audio system and climate control for four zones. The central place is occupied by a 17-inch diagonal rotating OLED display, integrated with a voice assistant that supports the Russian language.

The Coffee Pilot Ultra autopilot system includes LiDAR, 11 cameras and 5 radars, providing L2+ autonomous driving with the ability to upgrade to L3.

The premiere of Wey V9X will take place in China at the end of 2025, and sales will start at the beginning of 2026 at a price of 450,000 yuan (~5.4 million rubles). Export to Russia is considered a priority, especially against the backdrop of growing demand for large hybrid SUVs.

Thus, Wey V9X is not just a response to the Lixiang L9, but an alternative with an emphasis on real cross-country ability, long electrical reserve and the classic reliability of a frame chassis. And while Lixiang focuses on the “smart mobile home,” Wey offers luxury with character.
