Chery Tiggo 9: What awaits Russian buyers of the new Chery flagship?

Until the end of 2024, sales of the Chery Tiggo 9, a stylish and technologically advanced flagship with a powerful engine, spacious interior and modern safety features, will start in Russia.

Chery Tiggo 9 will soon appear on the Russian market as the new flagship of the Chery line, offering a modern design, updated interior and an impressive set of technologies. This model will be a worthy competitor to such popular SUVs as the Kia Sorento and Hyundai Santa Fe, attracting attention with a combination of technical and visual characteristics.

The design of the Chery Tiggo 9 has undergone several notable changes in China. The front of the car features a new massive radiator grille and a redesigned headlight unit, giving the model a more aggressive and expressive look. The rear part has also been updated: the optics have retained their usual shape, but the jumper between the main lights has become thinner, adding elegance to the rear appearance.

The dimensions of the car have changed slightly: its length is now 4810 mm, its width has decreased to 1925 mm, but its height, on the contrary, has increased to 1741 mm.

The interior design of Chery Tiggo 9 has been significantly updated. The center of the dashboard now features a large 15.6-inch infotainment display, while the instrument panel in front of the driver has a smaller display to display important parameters. The center console contains wireless charging for gadgets, a puck-shaped transmission switch and cup holders.

An important feature of the multimedia system is its high resolution - the main display supports Ultra HD (2560 x 1440), which ensures clear and realistic images. This improves the ease of control of the system and makes the interior of Tiggo 9 modern and stylish.

For the Russian market, Chery Tiggo 9 will be offered with all-wheel drive. Under the hood, most likely, a two-liter turbo engine with 249 hp will be installed. and with a torque of 385 Nm, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission or a 7-speed robot with two clutches.

In the future, a hybrid version may also appear for Russia, as was done in the Chinese market. The hybrid setup includes a 2.0-liter turbo engine (235 hp), an 8-speed automatic transmission, and an electric motor producing 221 hp. and branded DHT transmission.

Chery Tiggo 9 pays special attention to safety. The car is equipped with 10 airbags that have successfully passed crash tests, demonstrating high levels of safety for passengers and the driver. In tests for water resistance and sealing, Tiggo 9 also performed well. In frontal impact tests with a 50% overlap, the car proved its strength - the doors automatically unlocked, and the interior did not suffer significant damage.

In Russia, sales of Chery Tiggo 9 are planned to begin before the end of 2024. It is expected that prices for the new product will be in the range of 4.4–5.1 million rubles, similar to prices for the Jaecoo J8. Dealers have already begun registering pre-orders, and interest in the new product is actively growing.
