The VW and Xpeng electric car has a 100 km longer range and has a new interior

Updated crossover VW ID. The Unyx 06 increases the range to 528 km and gets a completely redesigned interior with three displays.

Updating the joint model

The Volkswagen Anhui joint venture, created with the participation of the Chinese company Xpeng, presented an upgraded version of its first electric crossover, the ID. Unyx 06. The model received spot changes in appearance, but at the same time it was noticeably updated technically and conceptually inside.

The main improvements concerned increasing the power reserve and redesigning the interior, which has become more modern and functional.

Extended power reserve

One of the key changes was the new traction battery. If previously the basic versions were equipped with a battery with a capacity of 53.6 kWh, now a 60 kWh battery is used.

This allowed the range to be increased from 426 to 528 kilometers on the CLTC cycle, which makes the model more competitive in the electric crossover segment. At the same time, the electric motor was modified: with the same power of 231 hp. torque increased from 310 to 350 Nm, which should have a positive effect on dynamics.

New interior and digital environment

The most noticeable changes have occurred in the cabin. The interior has become more laconic and technologically advanced: the front panel has an almost horizontal architecture, and the number of screens has increased to three.

Now the equipment includes:
- 10.25-inch digital instrument panel;
- 15-inch central multimedia display;
- separate 10-inch screen for the front passenger.

The software part of the media system has also been updated, which improves performance and functionality. In addition, the car received a new steering wheel, redesigned ventilation deflectors and modernized front seats with integrated headrests, which are now included in the basic equipment.

Positioning and price

At the moment, the cost of the updated version has not been disclosed. Pre-reform Volkswagen ID. Unyx 06 in China is offered at prices ranging from 189,900 to 249,900 yuan, which corresponds to approximately 2–2.7 million rubles.

Given the improved characteristics, you can expect either a slight increase in cost, or maintaining the same level to strengthen your competitive position.

Development of the Unyx line

The crossover update occurs against the backdrop of an expansion of the model range. In the near future, the Unyx line will be replenished with a new sedan, which has already premiered at the Beijing Auto Show.

So far, the technical characteristics of the future new product have not been disclosed, but its appearance confirms the strategy of Volkswagen and Xpeng to actively develop electric models for the Chinese market.
