Leapmotor Lafa 5 - combines high dynamics, modern design, 800-volt architecture and advanced technologies, offering an advantageous ratio of price, comfort and performance compared to European analogues.
Against the background of the rapid development of the Chinese electric vehicle market, special attention is drawn not only to flagships, but also to balanced, everyday models - such as the Leapmotor Lafa 5. The compact electric hatchback, which recently went on sale in China, surprised with its combination of dynamics, technology and affordable price: its starting price is about 1.3 million rubles (approximately 150,000 yuan), which makes it one of the most interesting offers in segment.
Under the hood of the Lafa 5 lies a single 230 kW electric motor, developing 313 horsepower and accelerating the hatchback to 100 km/h in just 6.4 seconds - a figure more typical of hot hatches than practical family EVs. At the same time, the power reserve on the CLTC cycle reaches up to 510 km, and thanks to the architecture of the 800-volt electrical network, the car is able to replenish the battery from 10 to 80% in just 18 minutes.
The design of the Lafa 5 is minimalist but expressive: smooth body lines, narrow LED headlights, hidden door handles and a panoramic roof create the feeling of a modern, almost conceptual vehicle. The interior features a clean screen instead of a dashboard, a 15.6-inch diagonal central display, wireless charging, a premium audio system and advanced finishing materials, including recycled fabric and eco-leather.
The software platform plays a special role: Lafa 5 received an updated Leapmotor OS operating system that supports voice control, real-time navigation, OTA updates and integration with a smart home. L2+ level autopilot functions are also announced, including adaptive cruise, automatic parking and traffic sign recognition.
At a price of 1.3 million rubles, Leapmotor Lafa 5 becomes not just an alternative to European compacts, but a new reference point for the price-technology-dynamics ratio. It clearly demonstrates: Chinese electric cars have long ceased to be “budget substitutes” - they offer their own vision of the future, where affordability does not come at the expense of driving pleasure.
