The new electric crossover i-SKY from Evolute, which was declassified by "Chinese Cars" even before the premiere, is undergoing road and climate tests in the Far North.
Why was i-SKY sent to the North?
It is worth clarifying that at the moment the company Evolute has not yet told about the timing of the premiere, nor about the official characteristics of the future electric car. It is possible that in order to clarify all the technical data, the crossover went to a complex of tests in Russian climatic conditions. After all, before the model is put on the market, the Evolute needs to measure the efficiency of charging the traction battery, and the i-SKY must be operated in various speed modes and temperature conditions.
The only parameter of the novelty that is known at the moment is the ability of an electric car to travel 600 km on a single charge. This information was shared by the co-owner of the Evolute brand Andrey Reznikov in January 2023.
What is already known about Evolute i-SKY
Recall that the Dongfeng Forthing Thunder electric car will become the future Russian model of the i-SKY, "Chinese cars" were told back in mid-February.
At the same time, both models – the Russian i-SKY and the Chinese Forthing Thunder – are novelties. At the moment, in China, the car is also preparing to go on sale locally. It is known that there its estimated cost should start from 140 thousand yuan (1.55 million rubles).
In China, the Forthing Thunder is positioned as a mid-size crossover. Its dimensions are: 4600 x 1860 x 1680 mm with a wheelbase of 2715 mm. It turns out that in terms of body dimensions, it is very close to the fifth generation Toyota RAV4. Except that the distance between the axes of Dongfeng is 25 mm longer.
The Forthing Thunder is driven by a single electric motor placed on the front axle. Its power is 204 hp at 340 Nm of torque. Such a power unit is able to accelerate the car from 0 to 100 km/ h in 7.9 seconds, and its maximum speed is limited at 180 km. At the same time, the electric novelty can offer a choice of two variants of traction batteries. Depending on the capacity of the battery pack at 57.8 or 85.9 kWh, the crossover will be able to travel 430 or 630 km of track, respectively (according to the CLTC method).
However, it should be borne in mind that the equipment and parameters of the Russian Evolute i-SKY may differ from the Chinese "relative". Therefore, "Chinese cars" will monitor the new information.
