A real review of the Haval H9 without any marketing gloss: impressions of cross-country ability, dynamics, comfort and nuances of operation - from asphalt to Karelian mud.
Hello, car enthusiasts!
Again, our column with live reviews is with you - without embellishment and marketing gimmicks. Today the focus is on the Haval H9. Let's listen to what the owner says, who has already managed to ride on asphalt and conquer off-road terrain.
What I'm delighted with (and makes me smile while driving):
- Cross-country ability - like a tankAll-wheel drive, locks - and forward to adventure! The owner proudly says: “Where the Prado slips, mine goes more confidently.” In Karelia, on dirt roads and in mud, the car feels like a fish in water.
- The dynamics in the “Sport” mode are breathtaking. The acceleration is such that it presses you into your seat, as if on an airplane taking off. Overtaking on the highway - without nerves, with power reserves.
- Space - like in a minivan. Seven seats, a huge trunk (with the rows folded, almost a tracked tank will fit in there!). Ideal for family travel: “Six of us go and everyone is comfortable.”
- The build quality is pleasantly surprising. Galvanized body, thick primer and painting, high-quality materials in the interior. The owner compares it to a “Lexus from China” - and not without reason.
- Noise insulation - silence, like in a library. The engine is almost inaudible, and on the highway the noise from the road remains outside. You can talk quietly or listen to music.
- The brakes are clear and reliable. They stop 2.5 tons without biting or bouncing things in the trunk.
- The light is bright and confident.LED headlights illuminate the road so that “every bump is visible.”
And now about the nuances (so that there is no “they didn’t warn us!”):
- Fuel consumption is not for the budget-conscious.In the city it easily goes over 12–15 l/100 km. On the highway it’s a little better - about 9-11 liters, but still not a “hybrid”.
- Electronics - with character. The multimedia monitor periodically “falls off”, and in order to revive it, you have to remove the terminal. Not the most convenient solution.
- Ergonomics - not for tall people. With a height of 180+ cm: the steering wheel seems low (as if “lying on your knees”), the power window control unit is located inconveniently (you can accidentally open the rear window instead of the front), the landing requires getting used to due to the high floor (a feature of the frame design).
- The suspension is stiffer than we would like. Small irregularities are felt, but on serious holes it is better to slow down. There is comfort, but without excessive softness.
- Multimedia is not ideal. The screen is large, but the menu is confusing in places. To find the right function, sometimes you have to “dance with a tambourine.”
- Starting problems are rare, but accurate. Sometimes the car does not start right away: the starter turns, but the engine does not catch. The second time - no problem, but the sediment remains.
Total: The Haval H9 is such a “universal fighter”: it’s comfortable to drive around the city, and it doesn’t fail off-road. It is not without its shortcomings, but it gives a lot for its money - power, comfort, and cross-country ability.
What do you think? Has anyone already ridden the H9? Share your impressions in the comments - let's discuss!
P. S. Remember: every driver has his own whims. One sees the shortcomings, the other sees the advantages. Choose a car according to your rhythm of life, and not according to other people’s reviews. Have a nice trip!
