On the eve of the new year, the Chinese automobile industry will bring a fresh note to the Russian car market by introducing three new models under the Jaecoo brand, which is part of the well-known Chery brand.

Information about the upcoming debut of Jaecoo products in the Russian market was provided by the official representative of the brand.

The fate of the presentation of the flagship crossover J8 in Russia, which was previously announced for the end of 2023, has been postponed to the beginning of 2024. The premiere of this model was first seen by the audience at the Shanghai Auto Show, and now the anticipation of the opportunity to buy the novelty is only getting hotter. The crossover will be available in both five and seven-seat variations, and in all aspects, from dimensions to technical characteristics, it is an exact copy of the Chery Tiggo 9.

The J8 will be powered by a powerful 2, 0-liter gasoline engine developing 261 horsepower, which can be paired with either a seven-speed robotized or eight-band automatic transmission. Future owners will be able to choose between front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive, although the exact specifications of the model destined for Russia are still in the shadows.

Additionally, a hybrid version of the J8 crossover will appear on the market, equipped with a 2-liter gasoline unit in combination with an electric motor, which promises to be a significant step in the ecological trend of the market.

Finally, next year promises to introduce a hybrid version of another vehicle, the J7 crossover, which already made its announcement in September. This car is distinguished by the presence of a turbocharged gasoline engine with a volume of 1, 6 liters, developing up to 186 horsepower and 275 N⋅m of torque, working in tandem with a seven-speed "robot". The offer will be relevant for both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive versions. The initial price of the novelty in Russian dealerships starts at 2,999,900 rubles.
