Lynk & Co 09: New Fast Crossover from Geely and Volvo with a Chip

The brand's flagship SUV Lynk & Co, co-branded by Geely and Volvo, recently received design and interior updates.

This model, first introduced in 2021, is based on Volvo's SPA platform, which also underpins Volvo's sixtieth and ninetieth series models, including the Volvo XC90. The updated top-of-the-line Lynk & Co 09 EM-P hybrid, photos of which were published by Autohome, has received changes that apply only to this version, while other hybrid and mild-hybrid models remain unchanged.

Externally, the Lynk & Co 09 EM-P has not changed significantly. The radiator grille is now single with dark stripes and new inserts in the bumper in the shape of the letter Y. Dimensions of the car remained the same.

Changes in the interior are more noticeable. A larger multimedia system tablet has been installed, which is now located above the panel. Climate control is now integrated into the touchscreen, and the center deflectors have been moved under the screen. New is a second display in the passenger sun visor. The second row of seats received heating, ventilation and massage function.

Technical specifications remain the same: 2.0 turbo petrol engine (254 hp), a motor-generator, a pair of electric motors and a battery with a capacity of 40, 1 kWh. The new Lynk & Co 09 EM-P is expected to accelerate to 100 km/h in about 4 seconds, which is significantly faster than its predecessor.

The official presentation of the model is scheduled for December 20, when orders will begin to be accepted in China. Prices are still unknown. For reference, the cost of the previous version started at 339,800 yuan (about 4,263,000 rubles at the current exchange rate).

In Russia, the Lynk & Co brand is not yet officially represented. However, until recent events, Geely was considering the possibility of this brand entering the Russian market, and already now Lynk & Co cars are available in Russia through parallel imports.
