The new Exeed crossover turns out to be a hybrid

Exeed is preparing to debut the EX6 crossover: a hybrid with all-wheel drive, lidar and modern design.

A new step for Exeed

Chery's premium sub-brand Exeed is preparing to enter the Chinese market with a new mid-size crossover with the EX6 index. The first details about the model appeared thanks to certification documents that revealed key characteristics and confirmed the use of a hybrid power plant.

Previously, the company has already published images of the new product, but now its main technical features have become known.

Design and appearance features

Exeed EX6 received an updated corporate identity with a frameless radiator grille made in a mesh design. The front part is complemented by C-shaped optics units and an LED strip along the edge of the hood.

An interesting feature will be the use of blue light elements, which will be activated when the driver assistance systems are operating. A lidar is installed on the roof - a key element of the autopilot hardware complex.

The rear part has an original design with protruding elements, and the presence of the AWD nameplate indicates all-wheel drive.

Dimensions and platform

The crossover belongs to the mid-size segment: its length is 4830 mm, width - 1920 mm, height - 1680 mm, and the wheelbase reaches 2800 mm.

Buyers will be offered wheels with a diameter of 19 or 20 inches, which corresponds to the positioning of the model as a technologically advanced and comfortable car.

Hybrid powertrain

The power plant is based on a 1.5-liter gasoline engine with 156 hp, which will probably work as part of a hybrid system.

It is expected that the electric part will be borrowed from the Yaoguang model: in this case, the front electric motor will be able to develop up to 224 hp, and the rear one - up to 238 hp, providing all-wheel drive and decent dynamics.

This configuration will allow you to combine efficiency and high performance.

Technology and line development

Exeed relies on high-tech equipment: the presence of lidar and advanced driver assistance systems indicates the brand’s desire to compete in the smart car segment.

The arrival of the EX6 joins a lineup that already includes the larger EX7, a model available in both hybrid and all-electric versions and featuring innovative fly-by-wire braking.

Thus, Exeed continues to strengthen its position in the modern crossover segment, offering a combination of design, technology and hybrid solutions that meet current market requirements.
