Queues for 250 people. Demand for Geely Emgrand in Belarus exceeds supply

The high demand has led to queues at Geely Emgrand in Belarus, and since the beginning of the year the model has already managed to rise in price. The journalists of the website told about the situation with the presence of sedans in Belarusian car.

Prices rose, but remained attractive

The new "Emgrand" entered the Belarusian market recently, in December last year. The model was designed to fill an empty niche in the sedan segment. The bet on this played out. Since the start of sales, the company has managed to sell 505 copies (371 pieces – in January-March 2023).

Moreover, the demand for Emgrand exceeded the supply. It is difficult to find these cars in Belarusian car dealerships. For example, a dealer in Brest has accumulated a queue of 250 orders, and in Grodno buyers have been waiting for cars since January.

At the same time, since the start of sales, the price tags for Geely Emgrand in Belarus have already been rewritten. The Standard basic equipment has risen in price by 4,000 Belarusian rubles (110 thousand Russian rubles), and the maximum Flagship — by 2,700 (74 thousand). However, sedan prices still remain attractive.

The basic Emgrand with a 1.5-liter gasoline engine (103 hp) and a manual transmission costs 49,200 rubles (1.36 million rubles of the Russian Federation) in Belarus. The second complete set with the same engine and variator is estimated at 56,900 rubles (1.57 million rubles of the Russian Federation). In addition to attractive prices, favorable purchase conditions contribute to increased demand. Sedans have a loan with a preferential rate of 3%.

To meet the demand, the Belgi plant plans to increase the supply of cars to the dealer network in the second half of the year.

Plans and prospects in the Union State

Recall that Geely Emgrand in 2023 should get on the assembly line of the BelGee plant. After that, it may appear on the Russian market.

By the way, according to "Chinese Cars", the distributor has already brought a batch of such sedans to Russia. The cars are designed to work in a taxi in St. Petersburg. It is not yet known whether the "Emgrands" will be available for free sale and how much they will cost.

At the same time, sales of the flagship crossover Geely Monjaro, which is not represented on the Belarusian market, have recently started in Russia. And the empty niche of sedans in the Russian market is still occupied by other Chinese brands, in particular, Kaiyi, Omoda and BAIC.
