Main problems of Chinese cars in winter according to Russians

Autonews.ru conducted a study analyzing feedback from owners of Chinese cars about their operation in cold climates, focusing on 2023 models and cars sold in Russia over the past year.

Users on forums point out problems with electrics and wipers in new Chinese cars. For example, Chery Tiggo 8 owners are faced with wheezing sounds of audio system speakers at temperatures below -10 degrees Celsius, which disappear after 10 minutes after warming up the cabin.

They also note the difficulty in selecting windshield wipers for Chery Tiggo 8 because of the unique mounting system, especially in winter, when many people switch to winter wipers.

A common problem is sticking door handles, especially on the newer Geely Monjaro crossover models. Geely Tugella owners complain of keyless entry malfunctions during snowstorms, though clearing the space behind the handle of snow helps resolve the issue.

Problems with the surround-view camera occur on the Geely Atlas Pro in extremely low temperatures, such as -37 degrees, although the car itself starts even in such a frost.

Among other winter problems of the owners of new Chinese cars are long warm-up time, oil freezing and cold in the rear part of the cabin. The owner of a JAC T6 pickup truck faced a problem with high viscosity of oil in the gearbox and transfer case, which manifested itself in cold weather. The problem was solved after an oil change.
