Beijing urges Russian government to support sales of Chinese cars

The Chinese ambassador to Russia, Zhang Hanhui, has offered to help sales of the Chinese car industry.

At the second Russia-China Automotive Forum, the Chinese ambassador to Russia, Zhang Hanhui, expressed the country's readiness to help develop cars that will meet the needs of Russian buyers. In exchange, China expects assistance from Russia.

Zhang Hanhui noted that Beijing is committed to maintaining production and supply ties and expects Russia to simplify conditions for the production, sale and operation of Chinese automobile companies in the Russian market.

The ambassador emphasized China's desire to maintain a positive image of its automakers at the international level, as well as to ensure high quality of products and services.

According to a report by the analytical agency Avtostat-Info, Russian consumers spent more than 1 trillion rubles on Chinese cars in the first three quarters of 2023, which is more than half of the total spending on cars (1, 88 trillion rubles), indicating a significant share of Chinese automakers in the Russian market.
