The Great Wall Poer pickup truck will fall in price by 250 thousand rubles in the Russian Federation with a new gearbox

Great Wall is expanding the Poer line in Russia: manual versions have become cheaper and have a new diesel engine.

New versions and price reduction

The Great Wall concern has announced the expansion of the Poer pickup truck line on the Russian market. Two new modifications have been added to the range, united by the presence of a six-speed manual transmission.

Thanks to this, the base cost of the model decreased by 250 thousand rubles - to 3,449,000 rubles. Sales of updated versions will start at the end of June.

Engines and characteristics

For new modifications, there are two options for power plants. The gasoline version received the already familiar 2.0-liter turbo engine with 218 hp. and 380 Nm.

The diesel version is equipped with a new 2.0-liter engine, which replaced the previous 2.4-liter unit. Its output is 163 hp. and 400 Nm.

Both versions are equipped with hard-wired all-wheel drive, low-range gearing and a rear differential lock, which preserves the model’s off-road potential. The maximum speed is 165 km/h for the petrol version and 155 km/h for the diesel version.

Differences in appearance

Pickup trucks with a manual transmission have received a number of visual differences. Among them are a new radiator grille, the absence of chrome elements and wheels reduced to 17 inches.

Such changes emphasize the more utilitarian nature of the new versions.

Equipment and configuration

New modifications will be offered in the only “Comfort” configuration. Its equipment includes front airbags, LED optics, climate control and an interior trimmed with eco-leather.

The multimedia system is equipped with a 12.3-inch screen and a rear view camera, but the instrument panel remains analog.

Market positioning

The price reduction and the emergence of more affordable versions indicate an attempt by Great Wall to strengthen its position in the pickup truck segment, which remains niche in the Russian market.

The company had previously revised its strategy: the larger KingKong Poer was withdrawn from the market due to insufficient demand. However, his return is not excluded if the situation changes.

The updated Great Wall Poer manual becomes a more affordable offering while retaining the key off-road capabilities and functionality sought after in this class of vehicle.
