In November 2024, WEY 80 will debut in Russia with an innovative hybrid system, luxurious interior and adaptation to winter conditions.
The premium Chinese brand WEY continues to gain attention in the market, and in November 2024 its new hybrid minivan WEY 80 will appear in Russia. This model promises to be a real revolution in the segment, offering unique technologies and a high level of comfort. WEY 80 will be available in two versions: 7-seater Premium and 6-seater Business Lounge with an extended wheelbase.
WEY 80 is equipped with a PHEV (rechargeable hybrid) hybrid power plant. The basis of the system is a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine producing 152 hp, paired with two electric motors. They have power of 95 and 52 hp. accordingly, and the total torque of the system reaches 762 Nm. Depending on the version, the minivan accelerates to 100 km/h in 5.7–5.9 seconds. Maximum speed is limited to 170 km/h.
Despite the impressive power figures, WEY 80 remains economical in fuel consumption. When the battery is completely discharged, consumption is 6.5 l/100 km for the Premium package and 6.7 l/100 km for the Business Lounge.
The car is also equipped with an intelligent all-wheel drive system.
The WEY 80 hybrid system uses a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 37.96 kWh in the Premium version and 44.28 kWh in the Business Lounge. Thanks to this, the car is able to travel up to 160 and 183 km on electric power alone without recharging.
WEY 80 is designed for maximum passenger comfort. Inside the minivan there are many solutions aimed at comfortable accommodation. The front row seats are heated and ventilated and feature multiple adjustments, including lumbar support and driver memory. The Business Lounge package includes seat massage and seat trim made from genuine Nappa leather.
For the convenience of passengers in the second and third rows, a high level of comfort is also provided: in the Business Lounge, the seats are equipped with functions of heating, ventilation and adjustable backrest angle. And the center console offers personal USB connectors for each passenger, wireless charging and other useful functions.
The multimedia system includes a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel, a 14.6-inch display on the center console, and for the Business Lounge version there is a 15-inch head-up display. The Premium package has an audio system with eight speakers, and the Business Lounge has 20 speakers and a separate amplifier.
The appearance of the WEY 80 is emphasized by electric sliding doors, LED optics, a signature radiator grille and 18-inch wheels. For Russia, the car has been further adapted: the configurations are equipped with a heated windshield, mirrors and all three rows of seats (in Premium - two rows), as well as an enlarged washer reservoir.
The body frame made of high-strength steel (82%) and a set of sensors to ensure the safety of the driver and passengers are another argument in favor of the reliability of the WEY 80. The Premium package has 13 sensors, and in the Business Lounge their number is increased to 17. The car is also equipped with six airbags and side curtains to protect all passengers.
The new WEY 80 hybrid minivan is fully adapted for Russian conditions and offers unique opportunities for everyday trips and family travel. Sales in Russia will begin in November 2024, and more detailed information on prices and configurations will be available closer to the start of sales.
