Smart presented the future of the brand - CONCEPT No. 1 for severe off-road

Smart has introduced a new model with index #5. On April 25, the presentation of Smart Concept #5 took place at the international automobile exhibition in Beijing.

The premium mid-size electric crossover called Concept #5 is presented in a brutal style with square proportions and rough lines, as well as high ground clearance. This vehicle stands out from classic city models with its short overhangs and large wheels, making it the perfect choice for any adventure on or off the road. Concept #5 is designed with two main aspects in mind: space and versatility.

The exterior of the SUV is decorated with powerful protective plates on the front and rear bumpers, mud tires on non-standard rims and massive side sills. The car is also equipped with an X-shaped roof rack, wind protection bars and additional lighting sources.

The interior of Concept #5 follows the latest trends and is equipped with three screens on the front panel. The central and right screens are 13 inches diagonal and use OLED technology, and the instrument display is installed in a separate niche. This entire complex operates on the basis of artificial intelligence and the AMD V2000 chip. In addition, the car is equipped with portable speakers and a projector to create an open-air cinema atmosphere.

Among the technical characteristics of Concept #5, we can highlight an 800-volt electric platform with super-fast charging capabilities. The 100 kWh battery charges from 10 to 80% in just 15 minutes, and a full charge allows you to travel 700 km according to the Chinese CLTC cycle or 550 km according to the international WLTP method.

Concept #5 is planned to become a production model by the end of the year, but it is not yet known which features from the concept will be included in the final version. The production model will likely be more simplified, but will retain the off-road look that fans love so much.
