List of cars from China that are most often insured under hull insurance policy

The favorite Chinese cars among Russians have been named, and often these cars are insured under a hull insurance policy.

Experts from Sber noted that Haval and Chery are the most demanded cars from China in 2023.

In 2023, the demand for Chinese cars and hull insurance policies for them has increased, and Haval, Chery and Geely turned out to be the most in demand. These statistics come from a joint study by SberAuto and SberStrakhovanie.

Haval proved to be the sales leader in its segment, occupying 22% of the total volume. Chery took the second place with 18%, and Geely closed the top three, also with 18% of the market share.

As for hull insurance, Russians more often insure Geely cars. Experts noted that the number of concluded hull insurance policies for these cars for the first 11 months of 2023 exceeded the last year's figures by 20 times. On the 2nd and 3rd places on this indicator were Chery and its premium brand Exeed.

Also the research showed that Russian motorists more often insure new cars of 2023 year of manufacture under hull insurance policy. Last year, cars aged one or two years were in demand.

Dmitry Pursanov, Director of Retail Insurance at SberStrakhovanie, noted that interest in hull insurance policies is increasing: in the first 11 months of 2023, SberStrakhovanie signed 40% more insurance of this type than in the same period in 2022.
