Fresh look and new “robot”: what has changed in Chery Tiggo 4?

The compact crossover Chery Tiggo 4 has again undergone changes, returning to a more concise name without the Pro prefix added in 2022. Now it is again called simply Chery Tiggo 4. On the outside, the car has noticeably changed: stylish headlights from the older model Tiggo 7 Pro Max adorn the front part, for the installation of which engineers had to upgrade not only the bumper and radiator grille, but also the hood and wings. Double-decker optics with main headlights at the hood level and thin LED running lights give the crossover a modern and aggressive look. There are even more changes at the rear: the headlights are united by a wide horizontal line with a large CHERY inscription, which echoes the modern design of the Jaecoo brand.

The line of trim levels is now simplified: instead of five options, the model will be offered in three - Active, Prime and Ultra. An important change concerns the power unit: now all trim levels are equipped with a 1.5-liter turbo engine producing 147 hp. and a torque of 210 Nm. The basic naturally aspirated engine (1.5 liter, 113 hp) and manual transmission are a thing of the past. Instead of a CVT, a 6-speed dual-clutch transmission is now used, providing more precise and faster gear changes, as well as increased efficiency. Acceleration to 100 km/h is now 10 seconds, which is only slightly slower than the previous CVT version (9.7 seconds). Front-wheel drive remains only.

For winter conditions, Chery Tiggo 4 will offer a full heating package: windows, washer nozzles, exterior mirrors, steering wheel and seats are heated. These features provide comfort at any temperature, and comfortable seats with lateral support made of eco-leather and six-way electrical adjustment will add comfort on long trips. The steering wheel is also adjustable for tilt and reach, which makes it easy to adapt it to any driver, and soft atmospheric lighting creates a cozy atmosphere in the cabin.

The crossover interior is complemented by a modern digital control area focused on convenience. The center console features a 10.25-inch touchscreen, as well as a similarly sized instrument cluster display. A separate 8-inch screen controls the heating and climate control functions, allowing the driver to focus on the road without being distracted by climate controls. The luggage compartment with a volume of 1100 liters will be roomy enough for trips both in the city and in nature.

The updated Chery Tiggo 4 will soon appear on the Russian market. Now pre-reform models cost from 1,640,000 rubles.
