In 2025, Chinese cars occupy 53.7% of the Russian market. TOP 5 models - Haval Jolion, Chery Tiggo 7 Pro Max, Geely Coolray, Omoda C5 and Exeed LX - combine modern design, technology and prices starting from 1.8 million rubles.
Chinese passenger cars are no longer just present on the Russian market - they are shaping it. At the end of January–October 2025, the share of Chinese brands was 53.7%, and the total number of sales exceeded 570 thousand units. Despite a slight slowdown compared to last year (-27%), it is Chinese models that remain the mainstay for millions of Russian car owners. Among them, five flagships stand out, combining contemporary design, modern technology and reasonable cost.
The sales leader was the Haval Jolion, a crossover sold in the amount of 53.2 thousand units. Its success is explainable: stylish exterior, excellent sound insulation, adaptive cruise control and available all-wheel drive in top versions. With a price starting from 1.8 million rubles, Jolion offers the maximum return for the money invested and confidently holds first place not only in the model, but also in the brand rating - Haval sold 135.8 thousand cars in ten months.
Second place goes to the Chery Tiggo 7 Pro Max, a car that combines practicality and premium features: a panoramic roof, a digital dashboard, an advanced multimedia system with Apple CarPlay and hill descent assistance. The starting price is 2.2 million rubles, and Chery’s total contribution to the market is 94.4 thousand cars sold (an increase of 29% compared to last year).
The top three is completed by the Geely Coolray, a dynamic, sporty crossover with LED optics, seat ventilation and a 360° camera system. Its price starts from 2 million rubles, and Geely as a whole shows the highest growth - +41%, having sold 76.6 thousand cars. Separately, it is worth noting the Geely Monjaro, which took third place in the model ranking with 30.9 thousand sales.
The fourth position is for the Omoda C5, a futuristic hatchback from the Chery line. With touch-sensitive climate control, wireless charging and a price starting from 2.1 million rubles, it attracts young people and those who value non-standard design while maintaining reliability.
The top five is completed by Exeed LX, a premium sub-brand from Chery that offers leather upholstery, adaptive headlights, an auto-braking system and a panoramic roof. For 2.3 million rubles, the buyer gets the feeling of a luxury car, which explains the growing interest in “premium Chinese”.
The cost of owning a new Chinese car remains predictable: with an annual mileage of 15 thousand km, the costs are 162-223 thousand rubles - including fuel, insurance, maintenance, tax and parking. A used analogue (7 years) will cost more - up to 308 thousand rubles due to the risk of unscheduled repairs.
The Chinese auto industry in 2025 offers not just affordable cars, but mature, well-thought-out products that meet the needs of a wide range of customers. And if you are choosing between a new and used car, priority should be given to the first: the warranty (usually 5 years or 150 thousand km), stable build quality and a growing service network make new items especially attractive.
