Production of the Chery iCar V27 crossover has begun in China, which will appear in Russia

China has launched mass production of the Chery iCar V27 electric crossover, a large SUV on the E0X platform with a range of up to 610 km, all-wheel drive (503 hp) and 800-volt charging.

The Chery plant in Wuhan has started serial production of the large electric crossover iCar V27, one of the most anticipated new products of the Chinese automobile industry in 2025. The model, developed under the technological sub-brand iCar, is officially intended for the global market, and Russia is among the priority countries for its launch.

iCar V27 is built on a specialized electric platform E0X, created jointly with Huawei. Its dimensions - 4,825 mm in length and a wheelbase of 2,920 mm - provide a spacious interior with an optional three-row layout, and its advanced architecture allows it to be offered in both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive versions. The top modification is equipped with two engines with a total power of 503 hp, accelerates to 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds and provides a range of up to 610 km (according to the CLTC cycle). Thanks to the 800-volt charging system, in just 18 minutes you can replenish energy for 300–400 km.

The design of the V27 is minimalist but expressive: narrow LED headlights, a panoramic roof, hidden door handles and digital mirrors (in top versions) emphasize its futuristic appearance. The cabin has three screens, a premium audio system, climate control for three zones and trim made from eco-friendly materials. Particular attention was paid to the software platform: the car received its own OS with support for voice control in Russian, OTA updates and integration with a smart home.

The L2+ autopilot system includes adaptive cruise, automatic parking, traffic sign recognition and lane change assistance.

Delivery of the iCar V27 to Russia is expected in the second half of 2026. The estimated price is from 4.5 million rubles, which positions the model at the bottom of the premium electric segment. Given the growing demand for large EVs and confidence in the Chery brand, V27 can become one of the key players in the Russian electric vehicle market.

Thus, the launch of the iCar V27 is not just an expansion of the model range, but a strategic step by Chery in the era of electricity and software-defined cars. And Russia, apparently, will become an important part of this new stage.
