New Lixiang L9 Livis presented in Beijing: all details and prices

At the Beijing Auto Show, the updated flagship crossover Lixiang L9 Livis debuted with an increased power reserve, active suspension and powerful electronics; Sales in China will start on May 15.

Premiere in Beijing and prices

At the Beijing Auto Show, Lixiang officially presented the updated flagship version of the L9 crossover called L9 Livis and announced its price. The model enters the Chinese market with a single starting price of 559,800 yuan, which is equivalent to approximately 81.9 thousand dollars and is noticeably higher than the current modifications of the L9.

The commercial launch is scheduled for May 15: by this date, the manufacturer promises to begin deliveries to customers who placed pre-orders before the auto show. At the price, the L9 Livis becomes the most expensive “nine” in the line: the current L9 Pro and L9 Ultra cost 409,800 and 439,800 yuan in China, respectively, so the new product raises the flagship into the upper premium segment.

Design and dimensions of the flagship

Externally, L9 Livis develops the familiar Lixiang style, but with a number of differences. The crossover received semi-hidden door handles and a redesigned taillight, making the silhouette more “clean” and aerodynamics more efficient. At the stand in Beijing they showed a two-tone body and a six-seater interior, emphasizing the model’s status as a family, but very expensive “home” flagship.

The car's dimensions are 5255 mm in length, 2000 mm in width and 1810 mm in height with a wheelbase of 3125 mm. In terms of size, the L9 Livis is comparable to large European and Chinese premium SUVs and is clearly aimed at competing with the Geely Galaxy M9, Aito M9 and other flagships with hybrid installations.

Technology: active suspension and powerful electronics

The new product is equipped with a whole range of advanced chassis and control technologies. The L9 Livis received an active suspension with the ability to individually lift each wheel, a fully controlled chassis with steering rear wheels and steering-by-wire. All this should simultaneously ensure high comfort and stability of a large crossover at high speeds and in corners.

The autonomous driving systems are powered by two proprietary 5-nanometer Mach 100 processors with a total power of 2560 TOPS - one of the highest figures among production cars. This supply of computing resources allows you to implement advanced motion assistant functions and prepare the model for higher levels of automation in the future.

Hybrid installation and range

The power plant of the L9 Livis includes a new 1.5-liter L3E15CA gasoline engine of Lixiang’s own design, working in conjunction with two electric motors and a traction battery. The battery capacity has been increased to 72.7 kWh, and this has become the key technical feature of the new product.

According to the manufacturer, the crossover can travel up to 340 km on pure electricity, while for the current L9 this figure is about 280 km. In hybrid mode, with a full tank and a fully charged battery, the total range exceeds 1,500 km, and the declared fuel consumption after the battery is discharged is about 6.3–6.4 liters per 100 km. At the same time, the dual-motor design provides all-wheel drive and dynamics at a level of approximately 5.2–5.3 seconds to 100 km/h, like regular L9s.

Prospects for the Russian market

Lixiang has been officially represented in Russia since 2025, and the entire line of brand crossovers, including the L9, has already been certified for mass sales. In our market, the L9 is offered through official dealers and parallel imports, while the price tag in Moscow and the regions starts from approximately 9.5–10 million rubles for new cars.

Taking into account the already established infrastructure and the formally open access of the entire line to certification, it is logical to expect that L9 Livis will eventually reach Russian dealers. In this case, the model could become one of the most technologically advanced and expensive Chinese hybrid crossovers on our market, offering a combination of range, premium comfort and electronics at the level of flagship European SUVs.
