Cars from the Chinese brand Soueast will officially appear in Russia

To successfully launch the Soueast brand on the Russian market, a team of managers and marketers is being formed, and the Jetour dealer network will also be used.

A new player in the Russian automobile market is the Chinese brand Soueast, which has until now remained in the shadows, even in its homeland. Their sales are so modest that they barely make it into the TOP 100. However, Soueast has announced its intention to introduce its cars to the Russian market in the near future. This ambitious step is planned for the first half of 2024, and perhaps the brand will be able to attract the attention of buyers with its competitive price.

Soueast, founded in 1995 as a joint venture between China Motor Corporation and Fujian Motor Industry Group, initially did not have its own technology, and remains so to this day. In Russia, their success may be due to offering a copy of a Chinese car based on another Chinese car.

Since 2022, the Soueast brand has become part of the Chinese concern Chery, which decided to include it in its portfolio as a budget sub-brand of the Jetour brand, while Jetour itself is a sub-brand of Chery. As a result of such a complex scheme, the Soueast DX8 crossover appeared, based on the Jetour X70 (which, in turn, is built on the Chery platform).

Russian buyers will probably be primarily interested in this crossover. The car is equipped with a traditional 1.5-liter turbo engine with a power of 156 hp. (230 Nm) and a 6-speed manual transmission. Soueast DX8 is spacious and has dimensions of 4720/1900/1695 mm with a wheelbase of 2750 mm.

This car offers a lot of features for a low price. Although this approach has not found much success among Chinese buyers, perhaps it will find its fans in Russia.
