BYD has launched the Dolphin Commemorative Edition to celebrate the production of 500,000 Dolphin cars since its debut in August 2021.
BYD has released the Dolphin Commemorative Edition model to honor the production of 500,000 Dolphin cars since its debut in August 2021. The model comes in two variants, Pro and Plus, priced at $17,300 and $19,000.
This special edition Dolphin is highlighted by a combination of black and red bodywork. The electric hatchback features a closed front grille with a center BYD logo on a black background adorned with an LED stripe. The front end also features parking sensors.
At the rear, the design features a narrow upper and wide lower section complemented by a roof spoiler and trendy taillights. Parking sensors are also present at the rear.
Five exterior cameras and five ultrasonic radars are included for additional driver assistance features such as adaptive cruise control. The dimensions of the Dolphin are 4150 × 1770 × 1570 mm with a wheelbase of 2700 mm. The trunk capacity is 345 liters, but with the rear seats folded down, it increases to 1,310 liters.
The model is developed on BYD's latest 3.0 platform and features an innovative 8-in-1 drivetrain that combines automotive systems and devices. Depending on the version, the car is equipped with a 95 or 176 hp engine.
The driving range on a single charge varies from 400 to 420 km, and acceleration to 100 km/h takes from 7, 5 to 10, 9 seconds.
