Zeekr has banned the sale of its electric vehicles in Russia

Zeekr is a brand of premium electric vehicles; it has not been officially introduced in Russia. The Zeekr company has introduced a ban on the supply of electric cars to Russia. The decision came into force on June 30.

Zeekr, one of the leading manufacturers of electric vehicles in China, has decided to ban the sale of its cars on the Russian market. This move came as a surprise to many, given the growing interest in environmentally friendly vehicles in Russia.

According to Chinese dealers, they received letters from the company indicating a ban on the supply of Zeekr cars to Russia from June 30 this year. Zeekr management explained its decision by a number of factors. One of the key ones was the change in the strategic direction of the company. This may also be due to the introduction of sanctions: European countries introduced a 38% protective customs duty on branded cars, and in the United States - a 100% duty.

The Zeekr company announced that there have been no official deliveries of their products to Russia and are not planned. The company's management emphasized that Europe remains their priority market, and they are trying to avoid undesirable consequences associated with sales in Russia. Legal entities were not able to directly import these electric vehicles. The company's decision to stay away from the Russian market is due to the current economic and political situation, which may create additional risks for business.

Zeekr will therefore continue to focus on its core markets and develop its presence in Europe, where demand for environmentally friendly vehicles continues to grow.

Zeekr’s solution has become the subject of discussion among car enthusiasts and experts. Many are lamenting the loss of the opportunity to purchase cutting-edge Chinese electric vehicles, which have been praised for their technology and design. However, some analysts believe that in an unstable market situation, Zeekr's decision is a logical step to protect the company's interests.

At the moment, it is unknown when exactly Zeekr plans to resume sales in Russia.
