Exlantix ET passed crash and ice tests with flying colors

Five stars in crash tests, frost resistance down to -30 °C and a range of up to 1238 km, the Exlantix ET crossover is ideal for Russian roads and climate.

The Exlantix ET crossover from Chery demonstrates outstanding test results, confirming its readiness to conquer the Russian market. Having received five stars in the C-NCAP crash test and successfully completed winter tests, this car becomes one of the most anticipated new products of 2025.

Since 2006, the Chinese Center for Automotive Technology and Research has been conducting C-NCAP crash tests, which in 2024 became stricter than the European Euro NCAP. For example, the frontal collision speed increased to 55 km/h, and the mass of the barrier during partial overlap tests increased by 300 kg. Under these conditions, Exlantix ET, tested in the basic 625 Pro configuration, demonstrated impressive results:

- Passenger safety: 91.28%. The high strength of the body made it possible to open all doors after a collision, and the restraint systems worked perfectly. However, experts noted an increased load on the chest and lower legs of passengers.
- Pedestrian safety: 76.2%. Active systems recognize pedestrians and cyclists, but the hood can cause head injuries in a collision.
- Active safety assistants: 85.99%. Some points were deducted for the performance of the driver monitoring system and sign recognition, but other functions, including blind spot monitoring and lane keeping, work at the highest level.

The overall result was 86.4%, which corresponds to five stars. By comparison, competitors such as the Li Auto L6 (90.5%) and GWM Shanhai Poer (89.5%) performed slightly better, but the Exlantix ET comfortably outperformed the Volkswagen Tiguan L Pro (84.9%).

Exlantix ET also passed winter tests in the coldest region of China - Inner Mongolia. Tests included:

- Battery immersion. The battery withstood an hour in ice water and two hours at room temperature without loss of functionality.
- Frost resistance. The car ran for 24 hours in -30°C temperatures and then drove 435.9 km at an average speed of 51 km/h. Interestingly, after reaching 0% charge, it was able to cover an additional 43.9 km.
- Ice and moisture. After four hours under heavy icing, the car successfully started remotely.

Exlantix ET is a full-size crossover with dimensions of 4955 × 1975 × 1698 mm and a wheelbase of 3000 mm. It is equipped with both electric and hybrid power plants:

- Electric version: rear or all-wheel drive, power from 313 to 562 hp, batteries with a capacity of 77 and 100 kWh with a range of 540 to 760 km.
- Hybrid version: 469 hp all-wheel drive, 1.5-liter internal combustion engine as a generator, 43 kWh battery. The combined power reserve reaches 1238 km.

For the Russian market, Exlantix ET will receive a redesigned design with an imitation radiator grille, as well as an air suspension setup with a maximum ground clearance of 240 mm. Sales are expected to start in the first quarter of 2025, and configurations and prices will be announced closer to the start of deliveries.

Exlantix ET is ready to compete with models such as Seres M7, Wey 07 and Voyah Free, thanks to a successful combination of technology, safety and adaptation to harsh climates conditions.
