Huawei and JAC showed the world the Maextro S800, a sedan that promises to revolutionize perceptions of the premium segment.
The Chinese auto industry continues to surprise the world, presenting more and more ambitious projects. This time, the new premium sedan Maextro S800, which is positioned as the “flagship of the new era,” attracted attention. This model was the result of cooperation between the technology giant Huawei and the automobile concern JAC Motors, and has already managed to declare itself as a potential competitor to such famous brands as Mercedes-Maybach and Bentley.
Maextro is a new brand created as part of the HIMA (Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance) consortium organized by Huawei. The association already includes such joint projects as Aito (with Seres), Luxeed (with Chery) and Stelato (with BAIC). Maextro became the fourth brand in the alliance and the first that is focused on producing exclusively luxury electric vehicles. At the same time, JAC Motors plays the role of a production partner in the project, providing its capacity and engineering support.
Maextro S800 attracts attention with its impressive dimensions and brutal design:
- Length: 5480 mm
- Width: 2000 mm
- Height: 1536 mm
- Wheelbase: 3370 mm
The developers relied on the classic forms of an executive sedan with a separate trunk, deliberately abandoning ultra-aerodynamics in favor of a massive and impressive appearance.
The main advantage of the Maextro S800 is the intelligent technologies provided by Huawei. The second generation Touring Longxing platform on which the car is built integrates advanced developments in the field of autonomous driving and smart cockpit.
The interior also promises to be the epitome of luxury and technology. A ceiling with a starry sky, natural finishing materials, wood veneer and leather will create a premium atmosphere.
Maextro S800 will be an electric alternative to models such as the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class or Bentley Flying Spur. The developers emphasize that the electric platform provides a competitive advantage in a segment where demand for environmentally friendly premium cars is growing.
In the Chinese market, the cost of the Maextro S800 will vary from 1 to 1.5 million yuan (approximately 138-207 thousand dollars), which makes it a direct competitor not only for imported Maybach, but also for local premium sedan Nio ET9, whose price starts from 800 thousand yuan.
Maextro S800 sales are planned for the first half of 2025. This car will be China's next step towards leadership in the premium electric vehicle segment. Given Huawei's ambitions and the growing popularity of Chinese brands, we can expect the Maextro S800 to attract attention not only domestically, but also in international markets.
