Geely has revealed prices for the updated Galaxy A7 sedan with a hybrid powertrain and a range of up to 2,150 kilometers, as well as for the new electric version of the A7 EV.

Prices and format of the updated Galaxy A7

Geely has announced prices in China for the improved Galaxy A7 sedan with a hybrid powertrain and its new all-electric modification, the A7 EV. The cost of new products falls within the range from 97.8 to 131.8 thousand yuan, which is equivalent to approximately 1.07–1.45 million rubles at the current exchange rate.

The main innovation for the hybrid A7 was a more capacious battery, which increased the maximum electric range from 150 to 235 kilometers, and the total declared range on one tank and one charge reaches 2,150 kilometers. At the same time, the A7 EV version with one electric motor with a power of 218 hp was added to the line, which in terms of price took an intermediate position between the two main hybrid configurations.

Dimensions and external differences between hybrid and EV

The all-electric Galaxy A7 EV is slightly different in size from the hybrid version. The length of the electric version is 4935 mm with a width of 1905 mm, a height of 1500 mm and a wheelbase of 2845 mm, and it is slightly longer than the hybrid due to different bumpers and body lines.

The differences in appearance are concentrated at the front: the A7 EV has a different bumper with redesigned air intakes and noticeably less chrome, which gives the appearance a more severe and “electric” look. In addition, the electric sedan has a slightly increased trunk volume - up to 547 liters versus 535 liters for the hybrid version, which is due to a different layout of the power plant and battery.

Hybrid Galaxy A7: technology and range

The Galaxy A7 plug-in hybrid uses a 1.5-liter gasoline engine producing 111 hp. and 136 Nm, paired with an electric motor producing 234 hp. and 262 Nm. The combined characteristics allow the sedan to accelerate to 100 km/h in 7.1 seconds, which is more than respectable for a family car of this size.

With the update, the initial 8.5 kWh battery disappeared from the range: now the basic versions are equipped with a battery with a capacity of 18.4 kWh, providing up to 150 km of travel without starting the internal combustion engine. More expensive modifications received a 28.3 kWh battery, with which the sedan can travel up to 235 km on electric power, and the total range reaches 2150 km; At the same time, the declared fuel consumption is about 2.7–2.8 liters per 100 km.

Electric A7 EV: one motor and 550 kilometers without recharging

The electric Galaxy A7 EV debuted with a single electric motor on the front axle producing 218 hp, accelerating the sedan to 100 km/h in 7.4 seconds. The energy source is a lithium iron phosphate battery with a capacity of 58 kWh (58.05 kWh in some specifications), which provides up to 550 km of travel according to the Chinese CLTC cycle.

It is interesting that in terms of price positioning, the A7 EV was between two hybrid versions: for example, the electric sedan is more expensive than the initial hybrid, but cheaper than the top-end version with maximum battery capacity and rich equipment. This approach should attract those who are ready to switch to pure electric propulsion, but do not want to pay the maximum for a flagship hybrid.

Equipment and reasons for rapid updating

In addition to modifications to the power plants, the Galaxy A7 received expanded on-board equipment capabilities. The new products include an electric tailgate, adaptive shock absorbers in the suspension, as well as a system for maintaining directional stability when a tire is punctured at high speed.

The Galaxy A7 sedan joined the Geely family only last summer and initially showed good sales, but by the beginning of 2026, buyer interest began to noticeably decline: according to Chinese sources, in the first quarter, sales of the model decreased by about 60%. Such a rapid update with a new battery, improved range and the addition of a full-electric version can be seen as Geely’s attempt to quickly support demand and return the Galaxy A7 to the information agenda amid fierce competition in the segment of hybrid and electric sedans.
