The power reserve of the 1000-horsepower crossover Xiaomi YU7 GT has been revealed

An analytical article about how the power reserve of the 1000-horsepower Xiaomi YU7 GT crossover is revealed according to the Chinese Ministry of Industry, and what place this model occupies among the new generation of Chinese passenger electric vehicles.

New Xiaomi supercrossover: numbers from the MIIT database

In the database of the Chinese Ministry of Industry (MIIT) a new portion of technical details has appeared about the most powerful Xiaomi crossover - the YU7 GT with a dual-engine installation of 1003 horsepower (738 kW). From the certification documents it follows that the sports electric crossover will receive a battery with a capacity of 101.7 kWh, on a single charge of which it will be able to travel 650 kilometers in pure electric mode, and the maximum declared range reaches 705 kilometers according to the Chinese CLTC cycle. These data make the YU7 GT one of the most powerful and at the same time long-range crossovers made in China.

The photo and diagram from MIIT also confirm that we are talking about a production version, and not a prototype: the power plant, dimensions and weight are already recorded in official documents. This is a key step for Xiaomi: the crossover secures the brand’s status as a manufacturer of super-powerful passenger electric vehicles, and not just mass-produced “gadget cars”.

Twin-engine unit with 1003 horsepower and 300 km/h

The power plant of the Xiaomi YU7 GT includes a 391‑horsepower electric motor on the front axleand a612‑horsepower unit on the rear, which in total gives the same 1003 hp and all-wheel drive. The maximum speed is limited to 300 kilometers per hour, which puts the crossover in the same league as the fastest production electric cars in the world.

The official acceleration time to 100 km/h is still not indicated in the MIIT documents, but according to preliminary estimates it will not exceed three seconds. For comparison, the Xiaomi YU7 Max version with 690 hp accelerates to 100 km/h in 3.23 seconds and is limited to 253 km/h. This makes the GT the true pinnacle of the YU7 rangeoffering supercar performance in a practical crossover body.

101.7 kWh battery, range and GT’s place in the range

The key to the balance between 1000+ hp and decent range is the CATL battery with a capacity of 101.7 kWh, which is installed not only on the GT, but also on other modifications of the YU7. In the case of the GT, it is with this battery that a range of 650 km and a maximum of up to 705 km are stated, while other versions on the same battery can achieve a range of up to 760 km according to CLTC due to more modest power and other settings.

The YU7model also has options with a less capacious battery of 96.3 kWh (LFP), for which the range varies from approximately 760 to 835 kilometers depending on the version - from basic rear-wheel drive to all-wheel drive Pro. Against this background, the GT turns out to be the least long-range in the range, but this is a typical compromise for a “charged” modification, where priority is given to dynamics and maximum speed.

Dimensions, weight and price: supercrossover in numbers

According to certification documents, the length of the Xiaomi YU7 GT is 5015 mm, the width is 2007 mm, the height is 1597 mm, and the wheelbase is 3000 mm. The curb weight of the electric car is 2460 kilograms, and 666 kilograms of this is accounted for by the 101.7 kWh CATL battery pack. These parameters confirm that the YU7 GT is a full-size electric crossover with a typically “heavy” architecture for its class.

According to preliminary data, prices for Xiaomi YU7 GT will start at about 450 thousand yuan, which is equivalent to about 5 million rubles at the current exchange rate. For the Chinese market, this positions the model at the top of the premium segment of electric crossovers, and in terms of Russian realities, makes it comparable in price to the top version of well-known European and Korean SUVs.

YU7 sales and interest in Xiaomi in Russia

The basic line of Xiaomi YU7 has been sold in China since last summer and in more than six months has sold about 153 thousand copies, which has already made the model one of the local hits. At the same time, interest in the crossover is also high in Russia, although the Xiaomi brand is not officially represented here: deliveries are made through parallel imports and private dealers.

According to February data, Russians purchased 157 new Xiaomi electric cars, which secured the brand third place in the top 3 segments, and the Xiaomi YU7 itself sold 88 copies, outselling the domestic Evolute i‑Sky. Launch of a GTversion with a range of 650 km and a power of over 1000 hp. strengthens the brand image and makes Chinese electric passenger cars even more visible both in China and on the Russian market.
