Tank 400 from Arctic Trucks is an extreme off-road version of the Chinese frame SUV, prepared by the legendary Icelandic company.

The Chinese auto industry continues to confidently push the boundaries of what is possible - and not only in the electric vehicle segment, but also in the world of real, “iron” SUVs. A clear confirmation of this is the Tank 400, a mid-size frame SUV from the Tank brand (a division of Great Wall Motor), which has now acquired an extreme, almost arctic form thanks to collaboration with the legendary Icelandic company Arctic Trucks.

Known for its modifications to the Toyota Land Cruiser and other “all-terrain vehicles” for conquering the poles and deserts, Arctic Trucks has turned the Tank 400 into a real premium off-road vehicle. The new version is distinguished by increased ground clearance, reinforced suspension with long-stroke shock absorbers, armored crankcase and fuel tank protection elements, as well as massive off-road tires on 18-inch wheels with an aggressive tread. The wheel arches are widened, the body is raised, and the frame geometry is optimized for maximum approach and departure angles.

Under the hood is a proven 3.0-liter V6 turbo engine with 354 hp. and 500 Nm of torque, paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive with reduction gear and center differential. But the main thing is not the technical characteristics, but the philosophy: the Tank 400 from Arctic Trucks was created not for asphalt, but for those who are looking for a path where there seems to be none.

At the same time, the interior has retained the premium quality of finishing: leather, Alcantara, digital instrumentation and a multimedia touch display - everything is in place. It’s just that now behind this comfort lies a car that can overcome a glacier, a sand dune or a swampy taiga without the slightest compromise.

This project is a landmark event not only for Tank, but for the entire Chinese automobile industry. Previously, only the Japanese and Germans received such “charges” from world tuners. Today, the Chinese SUV receives approval from Arctic Trucks - and this is recognition of its level at the highest international level.
