Dongfeng in Russia: review of DFSK ix5 and ix7

The Russian Dongfeng line has been replenished with two crossovers. Let's meet two very different crossovers. These two models became the first of the upcoming large-scale expansion of the Dongfeng range in Russia.

Despite the similarity in time to market, similar characteristics and general concept, DFSK ix5 and ix7 have a few differences. If the ix5 strives to be the canonical crossover coupe, the ix7 is aimed at the family buyer, offering a spacious interior and three rows of seats, which is reflected in their size.

DFSK ix5, presented as a coupe-shaped crossover, has the following dimensions: length - 4685 mm, width - 1865 mm, wheelbase - 2790 mm. The interior is distinguished by classic dial gauges, which is a rarity among Chinese cars. In the Premium configuration, it is equipped with a 1.5-liter turbo engine (137 hp, 220 Nm), a CVT and front-wheel drive, and also has a ground clearance of 200 mm and independent suspension (MacPherson strut at the front and multi-link at the rear). The standard equipment includes four airbags, ESP, a media system, a panoramic roof with a sliding sunroof, electric drive and heated front seats, tilt and reach adjustment of the steering column, a keyless entry system, an electric tailgate, climate control and 18-inch wheels. Price - 2,790,000 rubles.

DFSK ix7, a larger crossover, is also equipped with a 1.5-liter turbo engine, but in addition has a full drive with BorgWarner coupling for connecting the rear axle. Its dimensions: length - 4930 mm, width - 1935 mm, wheelbase - 2810 mm. The interior is seven-seater, with the possibility of wide transformation, including longitudinal adjustment of the second row seats. The trunk volume is 450 liters behind the third row, 957 liters with the gallery folded and 1893 liters with the second and third row seats folded. The Journey package includes six airbags, dual-zone climate control with deflectors for all rows of seats, heated, ventilated and electrically adjustable front seats with memory, a media system, contour lighting, a head-up display, adaptive LED headlights, adaptive cruise control and a set of electronic assistants, as well as 20-inch wheels. The cost of such a car starts from 3,750,000 rubles.

The choice between DFSK ix5 and ix7 depends on your individual needs and preferences. If you're looking for a smaller, more stylish car with good maneuverability, the ix5 could be your choice.
